Can I run 245/45r17 on stock 17" wheels on my CMSall4?

It appears this size would fit according to various calculations and websites, but I haven't actually seen anyone doing it. I am looking for as wide as possible but not taller.

By the way, I finally got to test my new (also first mini) cmsall4 in really icy/snowy conditions for the first time and it rocked! The stock all season contiprocontacts were surprisingly great. I was wondering why everyone else was standing still. Caveat: traction control must be off! Previous cars were 2012 nissan juke AWD, 2008 mazda cx-7 awd, 2007 toyota highlander awd (boring *** car), 2003 dodge durango 4WD, 1991 4wd toyota tacoma. I seriously haven't had this much fun in the snow since the durango (~10 years ago).
I love this car!
Did I mention I love this car?

also,

I am new to this forum and can't seem to get the pic of my guy (cmsall4 that is) to show when I post, with his icicles, but anyway, I will figure it out. Not important.

Bmw wheels will fit. Offset is different, though.

There's a link that I just posted with some the same issues.

I'm running with 225/45 R17 studded snows on BMW rims for the winter. The BMW rims have different offset than stock Mini rims and are wider.

That tire is an inch smaller in diameter that the standard 225/50 R17.
Your speedometer will read lower than you are going due to the one inch lower diameter and the odometer will be inaccurate.

Great, thanks for the info!
I think I am going to hunt for some BMW rims around here and have a set of summer and winter tires. Glad to know about what sizes work and what doesn't.

Tpms

Be careful... you might have to ad $400+ for tire pressure monitors depending on what year Mini you have and what year BMW wheel you find.

There is info in the forum. Search TPMS.
