jcw intake thoughts

Hey guys new to the world of mini just been resesrching keep coming up with open intakes not being a good idea but I have yet to see anything on the jcw intake any thoughts on an 07 coop s

The JCW intake is a true form of CAI. You're doing yourself a great deed for your car if you go this route.

Appreciate the help and its not that bad of a price jcw seems to be like an oem+ witch I like I could be wrong

On the R56 I like the JCW intake the best, and have one for both my R56's

also it isn't loud and annoying.

I bought one for my car as well.

Don't order the filter separately, it already comes with one.

No it will not. The intake layout is much different on the non-turbo engines.

I'm curious about the seal you mention on the page....is it between the filter and the box?

I'm looking at options now. I just sold my ddmworks ris and already miss the sound :-(

Yes it is.

I opted for the seal, $30 or so IIRC. He is correct that it probably has no impact on operation but its there regardless.

I could also have used the rubber surround on the Alta filter I took out, possible the stock panel filter has one also?
