Best Driving Music?

Saturday I just finished changing the thermostat, and needed to take the MINI out for a ride. backing out of the driveway, 'Red Barchetta' from Rush came on the radio. It seemed to be perfect, 65F and sunny, windows down, even saw a 356 running the same roads that I did. Good running car, good music, great 15 minute test drive.

Anyone got other favorite songs for a spirited drive?

Have fun,
Mike

Good suggestions. One of the days is when its cool and sunny. And, I have time to pick out some music before I start the car. Exactly what I pick depends on the day.

Today - I was partial to Cecilia Bartoli

I've got an odd collection in my car, because my moods change so much. From Steely Dan to REM to Hendricks to Miles Davis. Bowie, Cars, talking heads (yep, 80's fan). Sometimes the music helps relieve the frustration from a day of work, other times it adds to a good day.

Thought it would be a fun thread to see what others like in the MINI.

Have fun,
Mike

I'm a 50+ white guy. I listen to Sirius radio: Jimmy Buffet ("Margaritaville" channel 24), Reggae ("The Joint"), 40's Music ("40's on 4"), American Standards ("Siriusly Sinatra") and Classical ("SiriusXM Pops). I chill out these days. When I was younger, Bachman Turner Overdrive and similar music worked for an energy boost. If you don't like Bob Marley....

When driving spiritedly, I turn off the radio and get focused. But if driving let say, across Montana... It's the Grateful Dead channel, or BB King's Bluesville!

What? Like "Crash into Me"? I think not!

LOL - My nav's chatter about kids, mil, cost of groceries, etc, especially with my job requiring approximately 60-70% days per week out of town.

I leave mine on Mumford and sons Pandora channel. A mix of English folk music for a car built in Oxford :-)

New Order or Joy Division because that's what I listened to when I grew up in England.

I have a playlist called "Ticket Tunes" - ZZ Top (Low Rider), Dire Straits, Clapton (Cocaine), Steppenwolf, Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Ronny and the Daytonas (Little GTO), Box Tops (The Letter), Brewer and Shipley (One Toke Over The Line) and, of course, Bruce (Badlands, Born to Run). Guaranteed to get you 4 points.
