R56 No boost after oil change AGAIN!
No boost after oil change AGAIN!
A year later I am still fighting this P.O.S. I have replaced anything and everything that has to do with boost from VAC Lines to the Turbo and everything in between. No leaks, just no boost! This last spell I am going through is giving me 1-3lbs of boost and throws a code, I clear code and exhaust gets louder but still same amount of boost 1-3lbs. This happened to me right after changing my oil (I mean no more than pulling out of my drive way). I am seriously considering pulling this JANK 4 cylinder and dropping in a modern GM V8 and rear wheel driving this car!
I am pulling my hair out! I should not have this many problems in a car with only 72k on it.

I thought of the something. That'd be a really fun car. But, back to your issue. I used a brake vacuum bleeder to find a vacuum leak I had in that system. Auto zone had it. No leak, the tool holds vacuum on the gauge. Wiggle the wires around the BOV/diverter valve. This has gotta be something simple. Maybe try using something like carb cleaner and spray in small spurts around that area or around to see if its a vacuum leak maybe. The engine will change its idle if it does.
check the vacuum line from the turbo as it could have been broken during the oil change, or the brake booster line is good to check, also make sure the turbo inlet hose is good and tight.
I will recheck all of these again. The only odd issue after i got my new turbo on (k03/k04 hybrid) is under a load in 4-6 gear after about 15 seconds it would pop the code but no other time. I figured it was boost timing do to the hybrid turbo and the programing of the ecu.
Since July 1st. P2885 boost pressure minimum. I replaced everything to do with boost system and intake system. Even emptied my vac canister that was full of oil which was odd. Then after nothing fixed it I then replaced turbo and everything seemed fine for 2 months. Upgraded the DV with a Forge unit last year.
Definitely do what way suggested. He knows these cars pretty darn well. the problem has gotta be right close to where you were last if it just started after an oil change. when the car runs with no issues, how is the kO3/KO4 turbo compared to the OEM turbo ?

What are you doing for tuning?
Do you have to stock turbo or was yours mod'd ? If you can get a junk turbo that has a good compressor and turbo housing. For 260 bucks you can buy the center section and put your good turbine and compressor sections and bolt them on. Adjust the waste gate and your back to factory. As long as the housings haven't been tore up
I doubt it as well. I mentioned that cause you expressed about having a factory turbo. I have a factory turbo on mine currently. I also have a ko3/ko4 from GPOP. Similar problems occurred. Went back to factory turbo. Runs great.
