I've never messed with the scuttles before but would like to change then out. Does the chrome S plate slide out of the black piece? I want to add the black mesh ones but I've seen the mesh insert for sale I believe.

 

I just looked at them--the chrome S piece has a few tabs on the back holding it in. Shouldn't be too hard to pop it out.

The non-S scuttles are where it's at though. Couple pics:

I still prefer that. But lol it's less flashy than my full chrome S scuttles

 

You might take a look at Outmotoring - they have some mesh scuttles that don't require the carrier. About $100/pair IIRC.

They seem to be very popular as the match well with the "Blackline" Headlight & taillight trim.

They just clip into the side quarter panel.
