Can i make my exhaust pop anf gurgle?

I have a 2008 mcs and want to make the exhaust sound a little louder and perhaps gurgle/pop like the jcw exhaust. Is it possible to make it sound like jwc exhaust by removing or altering the resonator?

The jcw's downpipe is a big roll in the sound difference, I'm not sure why yours doesn't pop or gurgle? Put mine in sport and once its at operating temp she sure pops alot and even cold gets the gurgle

You can try by buying a JCW muffler and try to get it popping that way. But only '09+ JCW and '11+ MCS has the pop and burble. Also one other option would be, get a tune to change the mapping and all for you. Good luck.

I as well have a stock mcs.. 07, I just ordered WMW downpipe. You do have a downpipe but the jcw and mcs cat is different and diameter. My 07 pops and gurgles alot

That's weird. I have a 07 and it doesn't pop or gurgle and I was told that it went away in 2007 and came back later models after people complained

Welps mine does odly enough, completely stock. I'd post a sound clip if I had anything other than the iPhone for video, and the app would update so pics and vids would upload. For pop and gurgle my first guess is the dp. Muffler and res I'm sure would make an effect though as well.

Alas, you are correct, sir. If I could only get rid of the annoying juvenile pop and burble....

Don't think the 2nd Gen started popping and gurgling until after 2011 when engine mapping was changed. If some of you earlier owners (non-JCW) think your car is popping and gurgling, you haven't heard the REAL pop/gurgle.
To answer the original poster, you would have to get your engine remapped, not sure that's possible, at least not for the pop/gurgle.

Will removing the resonator make it sound sportier (without the pop)?

Without a custom tune you won't get any pop and burble on a pre 2011 R56, unles it's a JCW. Alls JCW's pop and burble due to tuning.

Don't waste your time playing with different exhausts if pop is what you want. I have a straight pipe after the cat and it sounds good but doesn't burble. My friend in a 2010 has a catless downpipe and it still doesn't pop and burble.

My buddies R56 '09 pops and burbles after his tune. It's not as loud as a '11+ MCS but still noticeable.

Exhaust pops happen from unburnt fuel combusting in the exhaust system. Old cars did it because the timing and fuel delivery was imprecise. New cars do it because they've been tuned to dump a small amount of fuel on throttle lift.

My 07 MCS with removed 2nd cat and resonator pops, gurgles, and occasionally backfires.
Especially with a heavy foot and sport mode turned on. Best exhaust mod for relatively cheap.

Most exhaust shops will be willing to cut out the resonator and 2nd cat, then weld in a straight pipe made of 409 steel, for a total cost of $40 at the very very most.

Youtube search will do you wonders. Yes it will give you the "sportier" sound. I had mine done at a buddy's mandrel bending shop with 409 stainless steel piping and it ran $70 to do this.

The difference is minimal at best. I did a muffler delete and love it! Very civilized until you hit WOT.

The difference is HUGE if you remove the second cat and the resonator. My car went from quiet to the way the car should come from the factory, with some tone.

Hey guys, I'm gonna go check out exhaust shops tomorrow but am genuinely unsure of what setup to go with. Ive heard taking 2nd cat and resonator makes the car sound louder but not as deep, which is something I don't want since I don't want to sound like a Honda. Thoughts? Also will just taking 2nd cat make a difference sound wise? Or should I do away with the muffler? Lol
What I want is a deep yet subtle sound that sounds great on WOT. Another thing is I'm getting a catless dp soon so I have no idea how that is going to affect the sound...

If recommend only deleting the 2nd cat since your going with a catless DP. Keep the resonator on since you'll get drone that way. What DP are you going with just wondering?

Im leaning towards Evolve but I haven't decided yet. Thanks for the recommendation though, do you think there would be a change in sound?
