Which borla is it? It's my understanding they made two, one being louder than the other.

Replace the second cat and resonator with a straight pipe, see if that is loud enough. That is quick and easy (or cheap if you are paying someone).

If you want it louder, the downpipe install is more involved. There are several threads commenting on the quality of various catless downpipes.

Be aware that you will have a check engine light with the downpipe. I don't know if your state has an emissions inspection....

Have fun,
Mike

I believe the only thing that can get rid of the downpipe check engine light for a 2013 is the Can tool from BMS. Try to search a little more and you can find all the answers to the questions you've asked. I'm assuming you haven't done the work yourself. Before you go and make it louder try and focus on mods that will make a true difference. Rear sway bar, poly motor mount insert. Any one of the ssk. Waymotorworks.com is a great place to start. Outmotoring.com is as well. I know to each their own and you are going to do the mods you want, but if you just have a stock car with a straight pipe all your going to be is annoying. If you do the mods I listed it is a perfect way to spend 350-ish dollars and make a meaningful impact that you will feel. Some people will have different mods to add. Best of luck.

Would you all please stop removing the cat from the downpipes...

I have to breathe air too, and you all are really screwing it up more than necessary.

The MINI will NEVER, EVER be a FAST car. No matter how loud or smelly you make it.

Besides, once your girlfriend becomes a wife, they lose all tolerance for loud, stinky cars, and other things that they didn't seem to mind before you married them....lol

I also have a 2013 Cooper S and installed the Borla S cat back system.
At 1st I was a little disappointed that it wasn't louder but after a month or so it got a little loader and deeper , not by much but enough.
Now I think its perfect, it has enough of a growl when I get on it and doesn't resonate at freeway speeds on long trips, plus it isn't annoying to the neighbors at 3:00 in the morning.
Give it a little time, I would think with your CAI, it will be more than loud enough.

I notice that for the R56 there looks to be three Borla Cat Back exhausts. The standard, the S-Type and the S-Trim. The S-Trim being the one with two small muffler canisters instead of one large or medium sized single muffler canister.

Is anyone running the S-Trim with two muffler cans?

Thanks

Just when I was about to pony up for the S-Type I stumbled upon the S-Trim on a couple sites. I would like to know the the difference in sound if anyone knows.

I think the S-Trim is for racing, S-Type is the most aggressive street muffler. Would sound like a beast decatted!

I believe the two canister S-Trim has been discontinued and is no longer available.
