Kind of tripping

As everyone here knows, you have to religously check the oil on our prized R56. I have been checking ever week for about 2000 miles & I haven't burned a drop! Oh, it's the Evoque with a turbocharged Ford motor. This is going to takes some getting used to...

Mine was full, full, full with every gas fill up and now its getting low (about a quarter above the low ball). Its also very black all of the sudden.
Only had the car about 2k miles. Got everything to do the change next week. Not sure how many miles were on the oil when I purchased it.

ltjpunk7,

You know what I mean. I am in such a habit of checking my oil every time I get gas. I go to the auto parts store and purchase 2 quarts of oil so I will always have it if I am low.

I recently purchased the Evoque and the oil level hasn't budged in a couple thousand miles! So this will take some getting used to...Me being a smart arss.

I guess I follow what you're saying, but I don't think we really have an oil guzzling monster on our hands that necessitates weekly oil checks. I do it every few thousands miles and haven't ran into any problems. Maybe I'm lackadaisical, but I think you're erring on the side of caution a little to extremely.

Well weekly for me, I average 3,000 to 3,500 miles each month. The dealer says it isn't unusual to use a quart every 1,000 miles.

Interesting, I was having to add a half a quart of oil every 800-1000 miles on my 2007 MCS. Recently I noticed oil leaking around my coils and had it diagnosed as having a bad cyclone separator in valve cover, had it replaced with a new part number and no longer burn any oil now whatsoever! I have traveled 1000 miles now without burning a drop of oil, time to have my intake valves walnut blasted!

New part # 11-12-7-646-555 Cylinder Head Cover

My '09 Clubman S doesn't use any appreciable or measurable oil between changes. I usually change somewhere between 7,500 and 10K or once a year.

And yes, I use my car - it get's tracked at least 3 times a year.
