OK - new subject:

What car, suv, truck, motorcycle, moped, etc. did you give up to move to the MINI?

I'm leaving my 2000 Celica GTS 6 speed VVTLi (screams like a banshee at 5000 rpm) for a made-in-October, to-be-delivered in November LY/B with stripes MCS. The Celica red lines at 7800!!

Next?

I'm selling (sold) a 1994 Geo Prism with 142,000 miles on it.
The buyer hasa also agreed to wait - while I wait for my Mini.
The Geo has been FANTASTIC.
On to smaller things ......

mine wasn't so bad, I actually gave up a pristine 850R Volvo, which I traded with my wife to give up her 318ti BMW to get the MCS. so it was a win win for both of us, she wanted the wagon, felt it was safer than the 318ti and I wanted the MCS.

94 Jeep Wrangler- finally got sick of getting wet in the SWFL constant rain, so I wanted something with a roof.

Gave up my '01 Ford SVT LIghtning.
Hey there =R=, I heard those Celica GTS's are good competition with the MCS. Both around the 6.8sec 0-60. Have you run in the MCS to see how they compare? I took one out for a rip when they new design came out. But I can't really remember how they would match up against an MCS. I know they don't have that 1st gear lag. The F1 style steering wheels was pretty cool on the GTS. No paddles, just buttons. But still pretty neat. Heard the 6sp versions got cut due to problems.
Cheers,

Okay. . . I've got you all beat. A 1985 Mercedes 380SE with a cracked windshield, a rapidly-deteriorating, leprous paint job, a no-longer-raising antenna, split seats, a dead cylinder, no-longer-working cruise control, a cracked dashboard, and nearly 200,000 miles. The very decent folks at Global Imports in Atlanta gave me $500 trade-in for it! I felt like I should have a bag over my head, driving that thing onto the lot full of MINIs and BMWs. Before that I was driving a 1983 Ford Econoline Van with non-matching doors! I'm in love with my MINI. . .

I sold my 1996 Jeep Cherokee to a guy who didn't even test drive it before he bought it! Score! Not that there was anything I was hiding...

2001 VW Jetta 1.8t. Fun to drive, but better after the APR chip! But after driving the MCS, I'm convinced it's light years ahead of the Jetta. Besides, it reminds me of my 88 CRX I had, and until my MCS shows up, it is still my favorite car! (not after the beginning of December though!)

MINI will be my Winter car, I previously had 3 summer cars; a 1966 Porsche 912 (for sale on http://www.longrun.com), a TVR Tasmin - sold to a friend about 3 weeks ago, and a TVR 350i - keeping that one as my main summer car.www.longrun.com
