I always thought that's where I would bolt a hook and chain if ever removing the engine,... but I dunno for sure. So far all I've done to mine is change a mount, belt, brake fluid, and coolant. I didn't need that bolt hole for any of that, LOL
Basiclly it's for another vehicle that the prince motor is installed in and/or spec'd for, if you ever strip the head or S/C off the car you'll find a few more of those in the castings.

Only problem is that motor is the gen1 tritec....made in Brazil....that is in south America...not France!! the French "prince" motor was introduced with the gen2....
The gen1 tri-tec motor was used in minis and a small number of dodge neons in a "export" version sold in a few foreign countries (think low end neon...very low powered...3rd world).
