I think I would be doing a lot of shopping around before settling on one place. Then you will know if your getting a good deal.

yes for sure. I have been looking for while, you can't really find these transmissions, very hard to find. A rebuilt one is $6500 plus shipping, ridiculously expensive. I just need something to fix it and keep the budget down. Thanks for your response.

hey quick question. I asked this before, but who can diagose whether the problem is just the valve body ($650) or the tranny ($3200+)? Having hard time with that. Big difference in cost. Dealer, if i took it to him would not do anything but a whole transmission.

Try a MINI specialist or a transmission specialists. tell us where you are located and maybe some NAM member can recommend a place by you.

I would call the dealer and talk to the head tech and not the service writer. Ask him about your concerns and see what he says.

These are independent shops in Birmingham that state they work on Minis

World Class Auto repair - 208-1343
Empire Autohaus - 664-5757
Eurasian Auto Service - 251-9263

I think that they do service on MINIs anyways.

Hope this helps.
