R52 2005 MCC Selling question
2005 MCC Selling question
Hi all,
Not sure if this is the best place for this question, but trying here first. I'm selling my 2005 HO MCC, it has around 80,000 miles on it, I went to KBB and I see what the estimated used price is, so that's the easy part.
Last year the transmission ended up with a hole in it and was replaced. It's brand new. Also, the engine ended up with a major issue so it was replaced as well. Both are brand new oem and MINI dealer installed.
How much do you think this would impact the selling price?
Thanks

But the car is in proper working order. A lot of the price estimate is based on the 80,000 miles, but the new Transmission and Engine have barely any miles on them. They were done separately so they both carry a warranty under MINI. I just don't remember how many miles off the top of my head. They are transferable, and on record with the dealer.
Then IMO it has no bearing on buying the car. If anything it helps make my decision to buy it as they major mechanicals of the MINI have been replaced and have a warranty.
Sorry all, ha, I don't think I was clear. What I'm asking is, the KBB says in 'Good' condition the car is worth 8,800.00 private sale. So, with a new engine and transmission do I try and just recoup a percentage of those expenses? The transmission didn't have many miles before the engine had an issue, and when the engine was replaced I drove it home and have done a couple of short neighborhood trips with it, so definitely under 200 miles on it.
Sell it for whatever the buyer is willing to pay. Unfortunately you will never recoup it all.
The fact that MINI did the work IMO helps as then you know it should of been repaired/replaced the right way.

What I think you are asking is whether you will get a premium because of the new motor and tranny.
That's not generally the way it works in my 30+ years of car buying experience but the warranty might help.
Why not list it here in the classified section for a price you'd be happy with and see what happens?
