Interior/Exterior I need some advice on installing an aftermarket alarm system
I was thinking of putting in an Audiovox alarm that works on voltage drop...real easy to install and the siren/speaker itself is pretty small.....but I'm not sure if it will fit anywhere, as under the hood is so jam-packed with stuff, and behind the front bumper there is no space either. They recommend it be positioned fairly close to the battery, so would prefer to keep it in the front of the car....2004 Cooper. Any ideas out there???
Umberto,
Here is where I installed my siren. It is under the cowl on the passenger side. here is a few pictures....

Hope this helps. I installed the Viper 690xv.... its a 2 way paging alarm. Good luck!

I forgot to add... The sound is muffled a bit by the plastic cover, but it is still plenty loud enough to be heard... just an FYI. The siren is really loud to begin with so it works for the best.
sorry to dig up this old thread

That seems relaly easy to cut if a thief wanted to. You should put it in a location not easy to get to.
