2002 JCW vs 2013 JCW GP

My coworker's boyfriend claims his 2002 JCW with a rear seat delete kit should be almost comparable to the 2013 JCW GP. I am sure there MUST be some vast technological differences, but I can't even find decent specs to compare performance. Can anyone elaborate on this?

Unless he has additional work to the engine as well as the suspension it's not likely his would keep up with a GP.

Of course

That part I already knew, but I was hoping for some spec comparison. From what I saw both stock do 0-60 in 6.1 which was made me wonder if he was not far off.

According to a recent review the 2013 GP does 0 to 60 in 5.9

Just let them both run them that'll prove it one way or another for you

If I get my hands on a GP I will gladly share my thoughts. Slim chances though! Soon I will take the 2002 JCW for a spin and be able to compare it to my 2009 stock Clubman. At least then I will have some perspective on what the old JCW has to offer, and what makes it unique.

3/10's of a second is not really noticeable to those who drive on the street and plus with his rear seat delete he may have gained a bit with the weight loss. I was hoping to hear about some more technical differences.

What kind of techinical differences?
1. Huge brakes on GP2
2. More torque
3. Higher HP
4. Tighter gear ratio in GP2
5. Very sticky tires on the GP2

Is this what you are looking for?

Yes but actual data would be nice. I am a numbers kind of geek.
