My JCW gave me a CEL and the car ran zero boost...i removed the error then it came back again..i started checking and found that the turbo has alot of oil in the compressor side i thought it was ordinary and cleaned it but it came again as soon as i turned the engine on..so now i need a rebuild kit for the turbo..any one can give me a link to a website that can send me one

By the way, you can buy a maintenance or warranty contract anytime you want from a dealer for about $1999.00 for 3 years.

I know that sounds like alot but it will pay for your Turbo, or a clutch that goes out (which on a JCW are $4000, or brakes.

It can pay for itself 3 times over instantly.

 

I recently had my turbo experience the same problem on my 09 JCW and it was going to be over 3 grand to replace. Luckily i had bought an extended warranty but the extended warranty company was a 3rd party that Mini no longer uses. They refused to spring for a new turbo and would only pay for the cost of a refurbished one and i could pay the difference for a new one if i wanted to. It was going to be 1900 for the new one with a 3 yr 3000 mile warranty or 900 for the refurb with a 2 yr 2000 mile warranty. I figured i'd save a grand if the new one only came with an extra 1000 mile warranty. Total cost with the refurb was 2600, it would have been 3600 with the new one. My cost was only 90 bucks for the oil change that the warranty company wouldn't cover that had to be performed with the install.

Even with a refurbed turbo the cost of the repair more than paid for the price of the extended warranty. I still have 10k miles left on the warranty and i think i will renew it with mini again especially since they now use their own company.

 

JCW clutch is $1043.000 according to the service pricing plaque at the local dealer or were you referring to the turbo?
