I read recently that Audible, Glympse, Rhapsody and TuneIn were being added to Mini Connected. As far as I can see this hasn't happened yet (although Audible does work via the general iPod audio link). Does anyone have any news on this?

 

I heard this as well, it should be any day now. I'm looking forward to the rhapsody update.

 

I sent Glympse a note asking when it would be live but haven't heard back yet.

 

Didn't I see something about Glympse mentioned on Engadget yesterday - showed it 'running' on a Mini speedo screen. Quite why anyone would want this I can't imagine!

 

I agree entirely, I can't imagine wanting to share my location with anybody

 

It's the TuneIn app I'm looking forward to. I don't like the standard Mini Connected "skin" for Internet Radio.

 

I use Glympse when I head to pick my mom up. Easier than texting her and she can easily see if I am stuck in traffic. Picked her up for dinner last night and she was out front of her condo waiting when I pulled up. She had just walked out based on the Glympse update. I find is useful if we are meeting people somewhere as they can see where we are and know when we will arrive. When they share as well we can make stops on the way if they will be arriving later than us. It really does have it's uses.

I can think of many apps I would like to see on the Mini Connect screen. I don't find the Facebook or twitter apps useful on there but others might. I would love to see a mini diagnostic app that would interface with all the car data so you don't need an external analyzer.

What about an Auto-Wave app that flashes the brights when another mini is passing? With location services it shouldn't be hard to do.

 

I'm looking forward to the TuneIn app, because MINI's current internet radio streams don't play all that well even with an LTE connection. Really a bummer when listening to out of market sport games.

 

I see there anew download from Apple for the iPhone that let's you move between apps in background. It sounds great but I haven't been in my car to try it. Has anybody tried it yet?

I just tried it. Looks and acts exactly the same IMO. I don't get it?

 

The Audible app was updated today adding MINI connected support. I loaded it up and stuck it in the car and it appeared on the screen. It also enabled the app switcher, so i could then switch between that and the MINI connected app

 

I've been using the tune in, stitcher and audible app for the past week and loving it!
