Sirius Free Trail?

We joined the Mini family, bought a CPO 2011 Mini Cooper S Clubman 6 spd. Question on Sirius, and I apologize if this has already been covered, checked forums couldn't find anything on it. Dealer claims we get a free year trial, I called Sirius gave them VIN# and radio code and they said that radio only shows a 2 mo trial option. I googled Mini + Sirius + free found this:
All new Model Year 2011 MINI Hardtop, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman vehicles will include a factory-equipped satellite radio and a one-year introductory subscription to the "SIRIUS Everything" package. After the introductory one-year subscription, the SIRIUS service will be subject to the standard rates.

Sirius says to have dealer call them, dealer says we're not really affiliated with them, so call Sirius. So I'm back to square one. Should I keep pursuing this or just stick with the 2 mo trial and move on.

Thanks!

Chris

If the dealer told you that, I suppose you could push for the dealer to provide you with a year's subscription, at their expense. I'm guessing that you didn't get that in writing though.

The free year trial from MINI corporate was only included as part of a 2011 new car purchase.

Just as a general FYI, if you do decide to purchase a subscription, ask for an promotions. They usually have some going on for much less than the costs you see online.

Dealer set up my Sirius trial when I bought my 2013 Cooper. MA set it up as I was taking delivery of the car, and he was showing me how to pair up Bluetooth with my phone.

I got my sat radio installed last year for my 2009 Clubman CPO and got the full year subscription trial. It expires on the 26th and Sirius sent the trial notification end notice with a $14.99/mo to continue.

My 2012 CPO Coupe came with a 90 day free trail.

Definitely check on promotions. I have it in my other car also and let it expire a while back. Within a few weeks they offered me 6 months for only $25.00 if I reactivated. I think that's my new plan from now on. Let it expire, then negotiate.

My 2011 MCS came with 1 year free sub, but I didn't use it at all or even set it up because I was always streaming via iPhone.

I recently decided to give Sirius a try and searched for my VIN after nearly 2 years of ownership. 1 year promo was long gone I guess, but I had 2 months of free trial associated with the VIN (I guess that's pretty much for everyone?).

I'm actually quite liking it. I won't get paid service for the full price they list on their site, but would consider with significant discount, which people report you can easily get if you call.

After 1 year of enjoying the free trial they want $160 per year. They would not offer any deal. I tried 3 times so I dropped them. Now I use USB thumb drives for each genre that I like. Who needs Sirius!!!!!

That's ridiculous, they are really pricing themselves out of the market.

Especially with smart phones and apps like spotify that are free and you only have to pay for usage per month.

Ha. Very discouraging to hear about them not working with you on the price. I assume you called, Frig?

I am, to my surprise, liking the Sirius radio experience (still in free trial) but no way I'll be paying $160/yr.

In a month, if they aren't interested in earning my business, I guess I'll just get back to internet radio, podcast and spotify full-time.

We've had Sirius in my wife's Jeep for the last 3 years, and I've never paid more than half price. I don't understand why they wouldn't give you a deal, never been a problem here. Same when I had my XM Onyx in the MINI, paid half price for 2 years then canceled in preparation for my R58.
