Had the dash indicator tell me a light was out on the mini. Traced it to the license plate bulbs. I opened up the covers, both bulbs look fine, but they don't come on.

Fuse? Ground? Any ideas? I'm kind of in need of some help here, don't want a ticket for this. I'm guessing a ground of wiring issue since they are both out. I've read it can be a fuse because all the other lights work fine. Is there a ground strap somewhere around there?

Try replacing the bulbs anyway - they're cheap. I had a similar problem and replacing with new bulbs solved the problem. I believe this is a fairly common issue.

 

Both went out simultaneously? Thanks for your help, I'll be changing them tomorrow. Then we will see what happens....

 

I also have a running light go out on the front lower left, before I got to the local autoparts store it started working again! Maybe the bulbs filament has not fully gone out yet, we'll see!

 

Just changed the bulbs, all is well. I have no idea how/why they both went out at the same time... But $6 later and we are legal again. Thanks for the advice and help.
