1101S Subwoofer Issue I Need Help
I recently installed the subwoofer into my 09 cooper. I have the gain set at about 90% and it is on low pass. My issues is that it is causing my front speakers to distort/clip. It has even shut the entire system down. The Head unit still says it is playing the music but nothing from the speakers. It takes about 20 Minutes before it comes back on. It doesn't do this will every song. I can not figure it out. I have check all of my wiring and it is all correct. Also the head unit is stock. Any information would be helpful
As I remember it, the sub is powered off the same amp as the door speakers - just the rears remain powered by the head unit. Turn the base down on the head unit, bring up the level on the sub (that dial IA suggests putting in the tray in front of the shifter), and turn the volume DOWN in general!
I too am able to distort the fronts, but to do so, I do have to push the volume louder than good for my already damaged ears...
Good luck...
