Hi guys I have a 09 mini cooper non s and I want to get a good sounding exhaust, im leaning toward the vip one but I wish there was more sound clips.. so are there any more exhausts around that price that sound better? I cant get a custom one unless the shop ships.. please if you know of any clips of the vip one or any recommendations for another please send the link! Thanks so much.. ive been doing a ton of searching and cant find much.. thanks again

I am going to get a spec b muffler delete. I have heard a bunch of videos (look at turn17.com for a video)...Cheap, light and sounds okay.

How exactly do you order one? Whats the price? So is it a exhaust system or straight pipe?

you can order one from Mini of Charleston in SC. They are 115 dollars....it is basically a straight pipe that replaces the back box ( rear muffler) of the mini.

I emailed this guy

Matthew A. Hair

and he sent me a waiver and an order form...

To install you have to cut the old muffler off and attach the bypass. I will probably also add a tip to it as well. Maybe even the stock one if it fits.

Wait! What about a video clip of the Cooper with no muffler driving off ?

....Only found one being revved....

Seriously would consider something else before cutting out the muffler completely but to each their own.

Why do you think that? Because it's a lil loud? Or ?
I am not worried about it being loud. My camaro had long tubes no cats and a chambered exhaust.. thats loud.. oh and when I opened the cut out lol omg ... haha

It is not that loud...it is the second of two mufflers you are removing. It will pass DB tests for autocross....if you look in this thread you can see some more information on it.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...kin-powah.html

Starts about page 5 of the thread. I am sure you can ask CMT his opinion of it...he has had one on his car for a bit and run it through some autocross events.

For me there is no real gain in spending 4 times the money on a VIP cat back that is probably heavier....I get the most bang for my buck out of the b spec bypass. But..you're right...to each their own.

Actually...I have been trying to reach Blainstang and the guys at Fast Toys to see if they were going to put theirs into production because I do like the look of the one they put together. But I have not heard back, thinking it is because the B-Spec Series has been ended...but if anyone knows those guys I would like to talk to them before I pull the trigger with Mini of Charleston.

The intake on the 2011 I run is louder than the exhaust dump at the back.

It's 80-82db on the autocross sound meters
