motor mounts !! is it safe to drive ?

So posted a thread about unusual starts and a lot of jerking , driving today I heard a POP when i went into 1st and than followed by a lot of vibration , and I mean a lot. Felt like I was driving a lawn mower -_-
That all lasted for about 35 seconds and subsided (the vibration)
Later on I had my friend who was with me at the time start the car while I watched the engine , and started up fine but swayed back and forth , went to mini explained the situation and was told it was more likely the lower trans mount, I assumed it was mount but didn't know which.
Anyway I get paid Thursday and my warranties deductable won't cover the diagnostics , so
Do you guys think It's safe enough to drive to work (8 miles total per day only two days this week) till I get paid ?
I'm pretty worried I'll hit some pot hole and my engine will collapse onto the trans and destroy the car -_-

I'm not an expert or anything, but I wouldn't drive it like that. I'd take a taxi or the bus and play it safe.

The one I have has very low mileage. I purchased a new one only because of a mod I wanted to do. Buddy was replacing a windshield and had extra polyurethane left over to fill the voids. A poor mans version of a BSH.

So while the one I have is used, it's in excellent shape and should last as long as a brand new one would.

LMK.

Would it be free ? Do you happen to know the labor on the lower mount? I was thinking with dealership tools it should only be an hour , so I'm going in the morning hopefully I'll be in and out if I'm lucky

But if labor is cheap enough I would gladly take the extra part off your hands and take it to my friends dads shop and pay alot less on labor, of course id have to pay out of pocket than

Just PM me info so it can go out.

The lower mount behind the oil pan is two bolts.....can't imagine they would charge all that much. While under there, have a look at the Power steering cooling fan and check for the usual oil seepage areas/axle seals so you can start triaging what maintenance may be ahead.

So i took it over to mini , found out my mounts were brand new as if they were replaced
The problem was the four bolts that hold the trans and engine to the sub frame were all missing
The tech also showed me my control arm bushing were ripped , my oil pan gasket was begining to leak and the power steering pump was also beggining to fail , my coolant needs to be flushed and brake lines need to be bled , so they gave me a loaner countryman s (which I'm in love with)
Monday they will call to let me know if my warranty covers the repairs , cross my fingers and wish me luck cause I know if the parts get fixed my MCS will feel brand new

So thanks again gray raven for the offer

Wow where the heck did the bolts go !?

Got my fingers crossed for ya !

If the warranty doesn't cover the major repairs, get those services done for now. ( brake/coolant flush ) Have them top off the PS fluid and check that system for leaks. Most cases those PS line leaks can be temporarily fixed by just putting a 1/2 inch hose clamp on there instead of that factory one. Leaks = low volume and can make the pump work harder than it should shortening it's lifespan.

All that other hoopla can play itself out triaging those repairs as time/funds permit you to do so. I had all those issues as well and that is best way to handle them for now.

At the top of that list would be; to have them replace the front lower control arm bushings/alignment same time as the oil pan gasket, and do the crank sensor O ring too. You have to drop the front sub-frame for each one of those repairs so labor time can be combined saving you some $$$$.
