2013 JCW hotside pipe

I switched out the hotside turbo pipe and it slowed my 2013 JWC down--put the original -w- the baffle back on and the SOB screems I had changed out the air to a NM air intake but I had read that the ECU did not like the pipe--and at this point I have to agree

How's the ride

How do you like your 2013 JCW? I'm on the fence about buying one. I've had faster cars but I live in LA and I think the Mini JCW hardtop would be fun to zip around. I'm sitting at home ready to go to the dealer right now and buy one.

Let's get this thread back on topic.

Did anyone else experience similar results as marbleme2 did with the discharge pipe on a 2013?

I have hot and cold in my 2012 JCW (N14) with no issues. I know in the N18 they eliminated the noise-maker, but other than that I don't know what else would affect that. Was it bogged down completely or just not as much oompf? I can't imagine something like the hot tube doing that on its own.

The baffle has not been eliminated --still there--there is some chat on NAM about this that I have read----but I think the problem was at WOT on the high end of the speedo---I had a bad hesitation out of sport mood--and just didn't seem that snappy, however I could tell a difference after taking the Alta pipe off I will put it back on after they break the 2013 ECU

I have the Alta hotside pipe on my 2011 JCW and no issues either.

Carpeviam, any positive gains from it? Or the same thing?

I don't know cause I didn't do any before/after dynos. Plus I had the pipe and the Alta intercooler put on at the same time just cause its easier do at the same time as the IC install.
But I'd would rather take my chances with a hotside pipe giving gains vs how some people add an intake to a turbo car which really just adds intake noise.
