Hi guys! I have done searches for this and haven't found much but i was wondering if it were possible for me to have a mini dealership retrofit the usb port and the bluetooth option into my '10 r56 S? Any information about price estimations would be greatly appreciated too! :Grin:

 

There is a no joke MINI bluetooth retrofit kit. Last time I saw it it cost around $400. There is also a service announcement on it. Try Motoringfile they might have the article.

I did the install myself of this system. Dealers will charge about $1200 total to install this (if they agree to take it on). It is a lot of labor as most of the dash has to be removed, as well as the driver seat (cutting into the carpet and running cables up from there to the head unit).

Most people aren't terribly happy with the bluetooth quality (mine bluetoot was great until either I got an iPhone or the software of the unit was updated, now it is worthless for phone calls).

The USB/iPod is fine.

There are some other alternatives to this particular system that are cheaper.

 

There is another Bluetooth kit that MINI has that is less invasive.

This is the parts of the main Bluetooth kit. I think that is what you were talking about as the bigger full kit.

It does take some work to install. It will also require the separate ULF module. Check out the pics of the products.
