Sonax full effect wheel cleaner
Sonax full effect wheel cleaner
Question about this stuff. I used it for the first last week on my black rims, I had washed my car the week before that but there was still some good brake dust accumulation over the week. I sprayed Sonax on and it was green, I waited for it to turn red but it never did. I rinsed it off and was pretty meh about the results, from my forum searches it sounded like this stuff was really good. Rims were still dull with thin layer of brake dust, had to brake out my wheel brush and cleaned it with soap and water anyways. Anybody else have experience like this? Wheels were wet, just finished washing car
It does help to use a brush for heavy or rough stuff, were your wheels wet or dry?
Directions for Use:
Turn nozzle to spray position
For best results, spray onto dry (pre-rinsed), cool wheels
Spray evenly onto all wheel surfaces (Cleaner will spray on fluorescent green)
Depending upon soil level, allow to stand 3 to 5 minutes. Cleaner turns red upon contact with sintered iron particles. This is a normal reaction.
Use a brush for extremely stubborn dirt
Rinse wheels thoroughly with a sharp stream of water from hose or pressure washer
Special Warning:
Do not use in hot sun or apply to wheels when warm or hot
Do not allow SONAX Wheel Cleaner to dry onto the wheels after applying the product

I've always had great results with the SONAX Full Effect. You mentioned the wheels were wet, which could have been the problem. I've seen less reaction on wet wheels as compared to pre-rinsed but dry wheels.
Did you wait the full 5 minutes? I have had to wait the full 5 minutes to get a reaction on wheels that are fairly clean and wet.
Like, yetti96 said, a brush does help to loosen everything. Since the SONAX bonds to the break dust, loosening it with a brush so the Sonax can get to the lower layers does make the SONAX more effective.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies guys and info. Yetti great vid, I definitely didn't use as much as u did in the vid so I won't b so stingy next time. And for some reason I thought after reading the label the wheels were supposed to be wet. I will do it dry. Thnx again!
SONAX is the only wheel cleaner I will use on all my wheels. I used it once and was hooked. Sprayed it on my dry, "cool" wheels, let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Broke out my wheel brush for a little agitation and sprayed off with my fire nozzle. Perfect results everytime
