AC Fan only blows on High

Hi,

I recently bought a 2009 JCW, and the fan only blows on the highest setting. I'm assuming its the blower resistor, although I've also read about issues with the 'final stage' so I'm pretty confused. Does the R56 share the same ac fan issues as the R53/50? Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can locate the blower resistor in the dash? Is it behind the speedo/radio?

I have one of these, and my center console torn out. Any guidance on where this thing is located?

Any progress on this?

No help from me, unfortunately - I don't know where the resistor is located in the MINI. I just wondered if you'd had any luck finding the little bugger (in case I ever need to fix mine).

It sure sounds like you're on the right track - only one blower speed working is a classic sign of a bad resistor. I just changed the one in my son's Oldsmobile last fall.
