R55-56 Carbon Fiber Wide Fenders

Hey All,

I sent a message to Fubrication enquiring about getting some custom wide fenders made. They responded today (on a Sunday at that!!!) saying that they need a demand, otherwise I would be paying a fortune for the R&D and one off fenders. I asked for a 1" Wider fender that still mates to the factory bumpers and side skirts. I have no idea of what the final price will be but I do know that there are a few of us out there looking for them. If you are interested please post up here!!!

I'd be interested, but I would rather have fiberglass or plastic honestly. I would just be painting them either bodycolor or matte black anyway.

Maybe we could hook Fabrication up with this guy he has already made a prototype.

I would be happy with Fiberglass as well, but I am not sure if they do fiberglass work. I am sure they probably do since it is pretty much the same process.

I think they would look nicer if they kept the wider edge all the way down in the front adding to the front jam width, and the same in the rear of each molding into a mudflap. Bumpy plastic injection mold to match the OEM Mini plastic would be great and much cheaper. Just saying...

I'd be interested as well, but maybe not carbon fiber. That sounds expensive.

Anyone know the story behind this car? Maybe a custom job, but looks good for sure.

Has to be a custom job. But that means that there is a mold out there somewhere........

The initial investment for a plastic injection mold is very high. Especially considering we are talking about sales in the ballpark of hundreds of units (if they are lucky) not thousands.

Wow, that's a good photoshop job.

The flared fenders really make the car look mean though in my opinion.

That's more the look I'm referring to. It reminds me of the cartoonish drawings of wide slammed rides.

That is also the look I would like to see.I think it would look just as dramatic meeting up with the stock bumpers and skirts.

That has been posted before some time ago. It turned out to be PhotoShopped.
