How much should I pay to get a 16% pulley put on?

I plan on renting the alta pulley removal tool to help the mechanic get the job done. He is gonna buy the tensioner tool. The mechanic has never worked on mini's before but I sent him this link http://www.billswebspace.com/MCSPull...tTensioner.htm. I would do the job myself but i don't have all the tools and would rather have someone else do it who would probably do a better job. Anyways I was just wondering how much I should expect to be charged for the pulley and tensioner stop put on?? I plan on negotiating with him before hand I just wanna have a rough idea of what to go by

Thanks in advance

It can been done in less then 2 hours. What does he charge for labor? Is he going to charge you for the tool? If he is tell him you want to keep it. Maybe this will give you some idea on what this will cost you.

He says he's paying for the tensioner tool and not to worry about it. Less than two hours...that would mean roughly.....$170. That's not too bad.

Once again thanks Bram. You da man!

about 1% more than it would cost to install a 15%

Negotiating on the front end is a good idea but don't be surprised if it takes him longer, maybe twice as long, even if he's a professional mechanic. Doing the first one of anything always takes longer. The more you do, the faster you get.
