***EXPIRED*** Group buy for a CravenSpeed Dipstick

I was talking to the guys at CravenSpeed to see if they did additional colors besides RED, like BLUE for their new Dipstick, and they said in a group buy that they could. They also said that they could possibly engrave it to say MINI5280. Their dipstick is a little more $$ than a stock one, but much easier to read and slides in an out a ton better. We would need a total of 25 orders in one color since they powder coat them to qualify and the price would be about $80 ($5 more than a RED one that does not have MINI5280). I was asking about the R53, so I am not sure if they would all have to be R53 or if they could do R53, R55, R56, R60 etc.

Lets see who wants a Blue MINI5280 Dipstick so we will stand out from the pack!

P.S. you know these custom dipsticks give you an extra 50 HP...

One color for the Group buy, they powder coat them, so they would do them all at once.

One blue one in Scooter might be good. So now you have 2.

Well it looks like we won't be getting enough people for a group buy of a special Blue Dipstick. So I am going to just order a Red one...

Interchange Yellow!!

How about just just a group buy on the standard dipstick to get a discount and save some cash instead?

Agreed! I'd still like to get one, even if it's gotta be red.

The group buy was actually going to be more as they were going to do it in Blue, and engrave it with MINI5280. I have not asked Craven for a regular group buy at a discounted price.

FYI,
I gave up on this, since after months I could only get a few people interested in it. If you want one, Way Motor works has the red one on sale now.

I gave up on this, so to get one you would have to get a Red one and get the deal before the sale is over at Way Motor works.

I am going to try the Blue Duplicolor Caliper paint, since it has ceramic bits in it to help try to keep it a little cooler. Once it is done, I will let everyone know how it goes.

Purple for me! Just kidding. I'll stick with the OEM dipstick for now.

Not sure if the price is still good, but Craven sent this email out on May 10th for the special price from Way

Item of the Week: MINI Dipstick

A major issue with the MINI has been the dipstick. They are breakable and they are notoriously difficult to read. The CravenSpeed Dipstick is neither of those things. The whole thing is metal, no plastics here, and it will last forever.

Here is the big news though, Way Motor Works has them on sale right now. Use the coupon code; 'csdipstick' and your price will be just $62.95!

I know we ended up not doing a group buy, but this is what happens when you pester Craven enough. They send you an un-painted dip stick to be painted by me. I got the Dip Stick a few weeks ago, and then went to the Auto Parts store and bought the DupliColor Blue Brake Caliper paint kit. This is important as the DupliColor kit comes with a Brake Cleaner spray, a stir stick and brush, but most important, a can of Blue Caliper paint. Not a spray can, but a 1/2 pint of paint. I stirred it up and then dipped the Dip Stick in it and let it dry for a few minutes, then dipped it again. 3 dips in total. After it cured for 5 days, I removed the paint from the O-ring indent spots (important otherwise it will not insert) and rolled those back on and put it in BLU, the Horse Power difference is amazing !
Here is the picture of it painted.

NICE!!! That looks fantastic! If mine didn't already match my Chili Red, I would be pestering Craven for an unpainted (actually un powder coated) one too.

It sure does look good. Thanks for helping us out by painting it yourself.
