I caught the 30 min highlights on NBC Sports Channel. Pretty neat stuff when you have Minis going against Hummers and Toyota in off road conditions.

They are using the standard Countryman headlamps. That's it. Everything else is custom racer, though the engine is based on a BMW motor.

Coverage is poor, NBC Sports channel shows 1/2 of combined highlights nightly.

They kept the name but moved to South America because Africa was to dangerous.

2nd Consecutive Dakar Win for an R60
I followed it a bit with the official Dakar iOS app, not sure if they had an Andriod one.
