What is the small left hand opening in the glove box?

http://www.gominigo.com/resources/_w...ntrymanGbt.JPG

As shown in the picture, there is a small opening. It doesn't really hold anything, as things fall OUT when the glovebox is open. I saw a post where the Prius has an opening, so you can put a wine bottle in it sideways. This is obviously not the case.

Ideas?

can't really tell fromthe pictures but on the R53's there is a knock out to install the AUX in port or iPOD connector in the glovebox.

I put the lug nut lock adaptor in an old black film case in that spot. You need to put Velcro strips on the canister and the "wall" of the little opening to hold it in place buts it like made for it.

There was another thread about this some time back. There is actually a purpose for that little cubby. Something you can buy from MINI. I just can't recall what it is right now...I'll see if I can't dig up the other thread.

What hdzcar said. If you open it and turn on your A/C you'll feel air coming out.
