South OC community
So, on my morning commute every day I see a ton of fellow MCS owners on the freeway, not even considering the base model soccer moms. I actually had a doppleganger in another dark silver r53 chasing me around and I'm shocked that you guys don't make some sort of club/gathering/meet. I've only had mine since Saturday. We Miata guys have a South Orange County Miatas meet that we call "SOCM" on saturday nights where track junkies, college modders, and general enthusiasts all gather to share looks, opinions and advice and even community events like canyon drives and the occasional bbq or "tech day" where we help out other followers with big a** projects nobody wants to do alone (roll bar/cage installs, suspension overhauls, engine swaps, etc...)
From this kind of community I've managed to find myself on a local miata race team out of lake forest, and I can't believe it if there isn't stuff like this going on with minis even if they are new to the track scene. If anyone is interested in an "outside of work hours" meet up somewhere in the southern orange county region feel free to get to me! I'm down to help organize.

I am shocked as well. There was a club but it looks like it hasn't existed for a few years. I just got my Countryman on Saturday so I would like to meet other Mini owners. Although it seems most Mini owners in Irvine are soccer moms and teenage girls. Not really Mini enthusiasts.
EUNOS and Charlie,
Not sure if either of you have looked into SCMM (SoCal MINI Maniacs) or WestCoast MINIs, but they both do a lot of meets in LA/IE/OC/SD.. I belong to both, and can say that WCM seems to be more along the lines of what you are looking for, whereas SCMM is more of a lets all get together and eat and talk about our cars.
If you're looking for club runs/track days/tuning-type of folks, check out WCM. If you just want to socialize, go with SCMM.

Or, although I live in SD, I commute to the LA area twice a week for school, if you want to meet up on a weekday night, we can arrange something on my way back home from school. PM me if you want to set that up.
Welcome to the community,
B

You can always look up and like SCMM non official group page on Facebook or join the club at the . Org site 30 bucks for life membership is cheap. Myself and other members usually meet up on Thursdays or whenever possible I live near Seal Beach and would love to meet up for coffee or whatever. There's a bunch of us out there willing to travel a little to meet new people. I can think of three or four members that live in Irvine. Check out Facebook or msg me your name and I can add you to Facebook group or at least we can plan something for the future.

Scmm has different area sat get togethers for breakfast. The third sat of the month is for the inland empire. We are meeting in Norco at a pancake house. Every one is more than welcome to come to get together to talk about minis and have some breakfast. Scmm also has other Saturdays for different areas such as long beach, malibu and San Diego.
Sir5150, I'm gonna try and make it to breakfast. Im also gonna try to get a few members from long beach area to come with me.

That is great the more the better. They have a huge packing lot and they are giving us a room for just the mini group. We should have a good showing of cars on sat. Hope to see you there
It is never too late the inland empire group of scmm get together every 3rd sat of the month for breakfast or lunch. We will be at the same location for breakfast again. Last month had 25 minis show up. For march 16th we are also having a fund raiser and raffle to benefit a pet shelter along with our breakfast hope you can make it.
