Who's ready for winter?

I may be late to the party, but over here on the West Coast it's still pretty mild... I just mounted my winter set. Unfortunately I lost the spanner wrench to adjust the coilovers, so the higher profile (205/55/16 vs. 205/50/16) winter tire is pretty snug in there... it doesn't rub too much, just over big dips in the road if I don't slow down first.

Anyway, I think it looks pretty sharp

Hey, yep I am in Victoria. Nice choice on the Bayswater! I test drove the blue one at MINI Victoria recently, great car.

I got most of my stuff from online vendors (OutMotoring, Alta, EuroSportDesign, VAC Motorsports, TheSuspensionSource) but there is a home based business in town that I got a few parts from... lower control arms, spacers, lug bolts, etc. The guys name is Bryan and the business is called Vancouver Island Auto Parts. He's a good guy, prices are fair and communication is great... here's the Facebook page:

For tires, you can't beat TireRack for customer service. Alex @ Tire Rack dot Com is great. I've been getting my tires and brakes from there, and I get that stuff mounted/installed at Big O on Quadra, they're good guys down there.

Ahh yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the color, but the test drive was great. I took it all the way out to East Sooke and really gave it hell.

The Service dept at MINI Victoria is great. Jody always takes good care of me there, so I'm sure you won't have any trouble with warranty service, etc.

Funny you should say that, I got mine tinted at SHC as well, and my stereo setup was all done at Elevated Audio, next door. For the tint I went with 35 front, 20 rear 3, and 5 on the sunroof. Looks great, they did a good job on it.

As far as first mods, if it were my car, I'd get new tires first. I didn't find the runflats grippy enough for my taste. Other than that, I'd just drive it for awhile and see if you find anything lacking and take it from there.

Drop me a PM if you ever want to hit some twisties when the weather improves. I like to get up early and head out to Sooke and Metchosin, lots of good roads out there. You'll have to lead since your car is a lot quicker in the straights!
