Tack display blinking and beeping??

hey guys..once in a blue moon, my tack display (above my steering wheel) beeps (chimes...or whatever) and the light blinks for a minute or so....what is my car trying to tell me?

I have an 03 MC and the only time the tach flashes and beeps at me is when the outside temperature is at 37 degrees or lower....
