I'm just about to the end of significant mods to my MCS and joined Fotki so I can share pics of my baby.

I certainly wish I had the equipment and expertise of hafid but my work will have to suffice, (see his post under MINI Talk). His work certainly has motivated me to acheive better results.

Thanks for taking a look.

Very nice. How did you mount the Fiamm airhorns? Did you make your own brackets or was it a kit?

The horns came three to a kit including brackets but I just used zip ties. You may notice where I mounted the compressor. In hind sight I should have mounted it inside the well that houses the brake lines. In it's current position it will make accessing the oil filter a tight squeeze. When I change the filter next time I probably move the compressor. I'll take some close ups if you want.

I have the Moss Mini Fiamm horns, but they came with the wrong brackets. The mounting points that the brackets were designed for don't work with the new late '04 MCS engine mount. I did mount the compressor inside the well though. I had not thought of using cable ties for the horns. Interesting idea.

Oh, and another question. The stripes on the boot, where did you get them? Thanks.

I made the boot and bonnet stripes. I went to a franchised sign shop called Sign-a-rama and had them cut vinyl to the width and length I needed. This was done with two different types of 3M vinyl. The first layer I applied was 3M's Frost material. I like the Frost but decided it was a bit too "sparkley" for my taste. I then covered the Frost with a strip of 3M material that when applied to glass gives it the appearance of being etched. This took the drama of the Frost down a bit, it almost resembles Grey Flannel. To dress the stripes up some (and tie them in with the color I had my springs powder coated) I framed them with 1/4" Candy Red stripe material, also from 3M.

You may notice the absence of the word Cooper from the boot. I took it off to lay the stipes down, intending on replacing it but liked the look of just the "S" there.

Hope I haven't been too wordy.

If you look at one of the pictures on my Fotki site you'll see the rear seat. I can take a reat seat only photo if you'd like and post it, just let me know.

The seats are killer. Are they OEM? How much did they set you back? I've got a CR/W S coming and could see these seats really making it look the business.

If it's not too late you might want to check out Classic Soft Trim. I ordered my car with out leather and when it came in the dealer sent it down to the local approved shop for CST and it was installed for $50 less than what MINI charges for their leather. Base price for all seats in the factory pattern is $1195, for and additional $50 they used a perforated leather in the (red) inserts. Best of all they rolled it into the price of the car and I financed it as would have with factory leather.

If there is a CST shop in your area I'd suggest going down to look at actual samples.

KerMini, your MINI looks really great! The attention to detail on wheels and striping is fantastic.....wow.
