I have a second Gen iPod touch. I would like to use mini connected on my new JCW coupe, but the version of Mini connected on the marketplace (2.3.0) doesnt work with ipod 2G.

Mini connected 2.2.0 will work. I just cant find it anywhere. Any ideas on how to do this? Can someone with a 2G send me the file?

 

So you're looking for the 2.2.0 version of the iPod app? The one you get from the iTunes store correct? Not the software update for the car.

If you're looking for the app I don't think you'll find a working file anywhere. If you have the iPod jailbroken it should be very easy as long as you can actually find the file.

If I had v2.2.0 still in my library I could send you the app file but when you go to try to install it on your iPod, it will ask you for my password. I think if you have the iPod jailbroken you can install an app that will avoid this but I'm not 100% certain. I know it works for cracked (stolen) apps but I'm not sure if that's the same as a donated app.

I think your only real hope is to obtain a legit download link from the iTunes store for an old version. I believe the old versions still exist in the iTunes database but I'm not sure how to get the links.

On a separate note, I'm guessing they totaled your R56? That's too bad, hope you turn your R58 into a copy with the green mirror caps and everything!

 

Thanks for helping out. I jailbroke the ipod touch in hopes of finding this version on those random marketplaces, but they do not have these. I am going to try and research how to find old Itunes store download links, but so far every link I have found opens up the itunes store to version 2.3.



They did end up totalling out my r56 - I was able to grab the green mirror and green union jack scuttles off of it though. I cant but them on my r58 JCW because its red and black and green would look silly haha. Ill probably sell them in the market place soon.

 

Not sure if you got this issue worked out or not, but it looks like if you are running the iOS 4.3 or later on your iPod Touch, it should work with the latest version of the MINI Connected app.

 

Unfortunately mg second gen iPod touch won't upgrade to the new OS so I need the old app or a new iPod touch :(

 

Hmmmm....that's weird. I have a Gen 2 iPod Touch and I'm running iOS6 just fine.

 

Are you sure its a 2nd gen ? I have 16gig 2nd gen that won't upgrade past 4.2
