R56 tires for a 2008 MCS
tires for a 2008 MCS
Good Morning fellow MINI owners I'm trying to decide on some tires for my MINI she has "17" inch wheels your help would be greatly "APPRECIATED" THANKS and have a "MERRY CHRISTMAS" MINIINHD
Morning!!! I'm also running 17" and switched to Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus. They're a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion. Another tire is the Continental DWS. Very reasonable in price and wear is good. IMO............anything but the runflats...............
Do you want to stick with run-flat tires, or switch to non-run-flats?
Do you want high performance summer tires, or all-season tires?
You can check out the tire categories at www.tirerack.com and type in your car info to see what the popular sellers are for your car in the 17" size. For example, best sellers in the Ultra High Performance All-season category (non-run-flat) are the Continental Extreme Contact DWS ($480 per set) and the Kumho Ecsta 4X ($412 per set). Both seem to be very popular here on NAM as well.

Come on OP, you have to fill in the blanks.
Where do you live?
What do you use the car for?
Do you drive in packed snow? Fresh snow? Deep snow? Rain? Ice?
All season tires don't do anything well, but if you have to only have 1 set of wheels and tires or don't / can't pay to have show tires swapped on and off every year, it's about your only choice.
While lots of people say they can get by on all season tires, they really don't know what they are missing.
I remember when I was a kid growing up in Colorado, (ok cue the music... Long, Long, time ago...) Everybody had a second set of wheels with snow tires, a lot with studs, and everybody carried a set of tire chains... Other wise you weren't going anywhere.. But technology moves on...
