Best clutch for my Mini R53, need help!!!

Hi,

I am lloking for a nice clutch that works very good in my R53, thinking in cost/benefit $$$.

I was thinking that SPEC Stage 1 was my option but I saw very bad comments of this brand here in NAM, so is more marketing than quality in these ones ??

Also somebody offered me a Valeo w/ Flywheel Kit and I saw good comments in this one, but my question is if I go with this option if in the future I switch to another brand then also I will need to change again the flywheel or this one also works with any other brand ??, the clutch that offered me is Solid (I don´t know what does this mean), the cost in this one is $350 + shipping. What do u think ?, this one is like a stage clutch or only OEM. I think is this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-05-MINI...af67fd&vxp=mtr

And now I found at ebay another option "Exedy" also with flywheel, but I can´t find a lot of comments in this one.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/120579095230...84.m1438.l2649

My Mini is almost a stage 2 with ALTA Intercooler with diverter, ALTA pulley 14%, ALTA intake, catch can oil, JCW injectors, Remus catback, kingsborne wires, NGK iridium sparks colder and repro in the ECU.

Also if you are selling a good option please contact me by PM or mariocaz@yahoo.com

Please tell me I am little desperate because I need to change my clutch ASAP.

Thank you so much in advance!

Mario

I had a Spec stage 1 with a Fidanza flywheel and it performed great. Stock like pedal pressure and great holding power. The lightweight flywheel really livened the car up as well. I only had it for a couple thousand miles though before I rolled the car so I can't comment on durability.

Hi,

I decided 10 years ago to install in my Mini an SPEC Stage 1 Clutch, but now I believe is almost die.
Now I don´t know what to do, because I never liked it, very hard and a pain in the *** drive the R53 in the city, so now I want a soft clutch, what you can recommend me ?
My R53 is healy modded with an Sprintex, big intercooler, header, 550cc injectors, ATI damper pulley, remus catback, sprint booster, etc.
I think in go for a Luk or Valeo, but maybe these aren´t my options because all the mods I have installed, but really I use the car only maybe 4 times per month.
A friend of mine recommend me the FX Stage 2 Clutch by Luk, anyone already used this clutch ?
Please tell me what you recommend me, thank you a looooot!!

A single-mass Valeo will handle your mods easily. Light pedal pressure is a bonus.
