2013 NAM Calendar of Motoring - It's back! Submit your photos now!

Back for 2013 is the North American Motoring - Calendar of Motoring. Like in years past North American Motoring will be selling calendars featuring photos of MINIs and Minis. We need your help though, we need photos.

Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your photos.

Calendar Format and Availability
Like the previous NAM Calendars of Motoring this calendar will be in COLOR!

Subject Matter
Photographs must contain a MINI or classic Mini. We are looking for images that convey adventure, exploration, and car use. With that in mind please don't submit images of your car sitting in your driveway. Get out and use them as they were intended and take photographs along your journey.

Calendar Entries - Format and Size Requirement

To produce a high-quality printed calendar the submissions must meet the following requirements:
  • Color or black and white
  • Horizontal orientation
  • JPEG format with a minimum of 80%
  • Your original image must be a minimum of 2272 pixels wide by 1704 pixels high. (This is approximately 7.5 inches wide by 5.68 inches high). Images uploaded for the contest may be smaller but must be at least 600 pixels wide to be eligible for consideration.
When considering final photo selections for the calendar, the photographer will be contacted to see if a higher-resolution version can be provided.

Submissions
  • To submit entries you must be a member of North American Motoring. If you do not currently have a membership please register. Membership is free.
  • Each member may submit multiple entries, but only two entires per member may win.
  • Submissions must be photographs that you have taken and are free of any form of copyright. Please Contact Us if you are a professional photographer and would like to protect your copyrights but wish to enter the contest. Note: you may watermark your uploaded photo with your copyright as long as it does not adversely impact our ability to evaluate the image. To protect your copyright we recommend uploading a smaller version of the image no smaller than 600 pixels wide.
  • Submissions can be used by North American Motoring without restriction (this may be waived relative to professional copyright protected submissions on a case by case basis).
  • Any use of a submission by North American Motoring will be accompanied by a credit to the author of the photograph whenever possible.
  • All entries will be reviewed upon submission to insure each meets contest requirements.
Selection Process and Winner Notification
All entries must be submitted by 12:00PM (Eastern) November 17, 2011. The winning entries will be selected by member vote beginning on November 18, 2012 at 12:00PM (Eastern) concluding on November 24, 2012. Winning entrants notified using the email address associated with their North American Motoring username (please ensure that your email address is up to date by visiting User CP > Edit Email & Password). Winners will be notifed via email by 5pm (Eastern) November 26, 2012. Notification of winning entries may also be delivered on the North American Motoring home page.

Prizes
Each winning member with photo(s) selected for use in the NAM calendar will be awarded a copy of the 2013 NAM Calendar of Motoring.

How to Submit an Entry
  • Make sure you are logged into the site.
  • Click here to go to the upload photo form.
  • Select the category Contests->2013 Calendar of Motoring Entries.
  • Click Browse to select the image from your computer.
  • Click Upload/Submit.
After the photo has been submitted it will be reviewed by an Admin. If it does not meet the requirements for the contest it will be removed without notification.

Additional Information
If you have additional questions please contact Jeremy (Jeremy1026) or Melissa (MLPearson79) via Private Message. Be sure to include "Calendar Contest Question" in the subject line.

You may pre-order a copy of this year's calendar here.

Note - please make sure you are uploading to the 2013 gallery, not 2012! I just moved a photo to the right place.

The only ones that are showing up for me are the November 2012 photo contest and the "Travel Stories" category.

I checked and made some adjustments, could someone take a second look for me to see if it's corrected?

Okay, I entered 2 successfully, but the next 2 resulted in an error message. Is there a limit on file size per picture? Is it recommended to download smaller file sizes, then if picked, the full size will be used?

The NAM sever maximum limit for any upload is 2MB file size (Official word from IB).

I've seen photopost handle a little larger than that, but it compresses and quality is lost. We will ask for the full res image via email after the votes are done so to upload a smaller file is not an issue so long as the larger one is saved somewhere.

Just a suggestion:
It would be nice to print somewhere on the calendar where the included photos were taken.

The entry period is over (I left it open a little longer since people had trouble right off the bat). Time to vote! Head back to the gallery and peruse, then vote for your SINGLE favorite photo by clicking "vote" beneath the picture from the gallery page.

Thanks and good luck to all who entered!
