Jcw injectors wont start

Hi gang I have a r53 and just installed jcw 380 injectors and the car won't start. Just turns over. It's not even trying to catch. Turned key dozens of times to prime. Checked bleeder on fuel rail. Appears to have pressure. Any ideas? Did I miss something? Many thanks

it takes a bit to get the air out....
can you smell gas coming out the tail pipe?
If I remember right, it was about 20seconds of cranking...
double check all your connections....there were quite a few to plug in/unplug...

I'm not sure how long you may have been turning it over, but you should turn the key to the on position, but do not turn it farther to allow the engine to turn over. the fuel pump pressurizes the system for 3-5 seconds. Do this several time to take the air out of the system, but even so, you shouldn't have lost that much fuel to keep trying to start it and nothing happen. Did you pull any fuses or relays? did you touch any electrical connections that may cause a short? As the other post said, do you smell raw fuel in the exhaust? Hows the spark? Take out a couple plugs and check to see if they're wet from fuel laying on them, and also plug them into the wire, anfd set them on a ground, see if your get any spark.

Update. Spark plugs were dry. I put old injectors back in and it started immediately. I bought the injectors from someone on NAM.
I checked them with a 12v and they click on and off. What are the serial numbers for jcw's?

Update update. First, thanks to everyone who responded so fast. This is an awesome site and I'm proud to be part of it. Ok enough of that. I fixed the jcw injectors by soaking them in brake-Klean for 10 min. Then cycled them on and off with a 12v battery. Reinstalled and it started right up. They were used and I guess clogged shut? Thanks again to everyone!

The Mini dealer recommended BG products for cleaning the fuel system, something to think about in the near future.

bet the old injectors had a bit of fuel in them...and it dried out, turned to varnish....
sounds like you fixed it!!
Be VERY carful when inserting injectors...the o-Rings on them are pretty fragile....and are best replaced when you swap them.

Make sure you do yourself a huge favor and get the car properly tuned if haven't already. You will do more bad then good running rich like that. The car will only correct the fuel air ratio and trim so much. I had a friend drop 21lbs. Injectors on his vehicle that came with 16lbs stock. After drowning in fuel as he went down the road, he eventually bend a connecting rod so bad, it got lodged in the c.
