October 2007

On October 16, 2007, I joined the board to research getting a Mini Cooper.

On October 30, 2012, I got one. :D

I'm considering some aftermarket wheels and non-RFT tires; shouldn't take me more than 3 years, tops. See you guys then.

One surprise on the drive home - how many people were checking it out in traffic and while parked. I remember doing that myself when the Mini first came out, but I figured by now they were part of the automotive landscape (I see them all the time in Chicago) and no one noticed them anymore.

I get looks all the time... It's pretty funny since everyone around here has trucks.

Congrats and it's great you did your homework.

A beautiful Mini is the Goodwood edition they had in the showroom. I've never seen one of those on the street, though - I wonder how many they've actually sold?

That looks just like mine, right down to the warped hood scoop. Is that Astro Black? I got it with a white roof and checkered mirror, I love the color.

Yep, it's Astro Black. I considered a candy color as better visibility can only help with something this size, but I tend to always trend to black - seven of my last 8 cars have been black (my Smart Fortwo was white with black Tridion).

Same here... I have people start conversations with me at least a couple of times a week because of the mini. Yesterday it was a couple of employees at Home Depot while I was loading up a few things. They loved the car and I love talking about it. Good combo.
