Keep trying. There should be a pinch tab for you to grab.

That is what I thought but no luck . I am trying to take it out because I want to install a radar kill button in the middle of the sport and the dtc button. But it is killing me I can't get it off. I wish someone had a DYI on it but no luck so far.

Take a break for a little bit then go back at it. That normally works for me when I get caught up in something that see,s to not be going well.

Did you get it? I have had to do this twice and still haven't figured out the "trick." The best that worked for me was a flashlight, a mirror, and a very small screwdriver to push in each side one at a time.

No not yet flash light and a mirror trick I used as well. I have given up for the night but tomorrow I will be back at it. I mean it has to come off of there right?

I recall just using a flat screw driver to peel the connector off.

Well I guys I finally got it. It has two dog ear clips on the side of the clip. I finally took the back of the console where the parking brake is. Which by the way was a lot easier to get out than I had thought. But once I had that off i could get to it and it came right off. I hard wired my radar in but I wanted to a way to turn it off just in case I was getting a ticket. But here is the picture it works great by the way. I know it looks dirty but i took this right after I got it together. thanks for the help guys or at the very least the encouragement.

Glad you figured it out. Had a similar idea for that button.

On mine, wiring was long enough to work the console out of the shifter and hand brake & flip it over. From there it was easy to release the clips.

I put the subwoofer control **** on top of the middle button & wired the led indicator to shine on the small storage

Windman and rederik, both of your mods to the "dead button" look very sharp. Wish I had the skills to do something like that, although I'm not sure what I'd put there. Another aux input or something?

Oh by the way Kirby11 it didn't take much skill for mine just ***** hahahha to be able to take everything apart. But it really wasn't bad at all. You can do it that is the fun thing about owning a MINI you get to add all the mods. I guess that is why I own two of them.

Thanks!

I have a Bass600 in the boot, it came with a remote level control with a bright led indicator. I disassembled it and noticed that it was just the right size to fit in button. I extended the wiring for the led & drilled a hole in front of the cig plug.

I don't consider myself skilled either, I'd say anyone can do it.
