Battery Replacement: Redtop 8002-002 34 OR 8003-151 34R?

I picked up a Redtop 8003-151 34R for my 06 Convertible and it doesnt fit.

The positive cable isnt "long" enough to reach the post without hitting the other lead off of the positive cable. Hard to describe.

Basically.. the post is too far in for the cable ( ) to reach.

Did you really receive a 34R or is it a 34 (not reversed). I remember another post from someone who asked for a 34R but got a 34.

Definitely a 34r

Based on that photo you bent the second lead on the positive cable so it went straight out rather than 90' angle like it really is?

See my posts here WRT the Optima fitment. Rich didn't have a problem. I had a few and had to make several adjustments to get it to fit. Like you, my second lead was at 90 deg and I had to bend it flat to get it to fit.

Yes. Eric and I have gone back and forth about this. For me it was simple. It just bolted in. Eric made some adjustments but still got it installed. Some day he and I will meet in Wichita and compare our rides.

But the bottom line is that the Optima technology is good enough to pay the extra cash for. No acid to leak. No gasses to vent. Higher capacity. More tolerant to a deep discharge if you for some reason don't pay attention some day.

Just my opinion but I think in this case, a good one.
