Halo lights

O I just put halo lights in my 03 cooper. So far I love them and they look great.

However, I haven't hooked up the halos nor LEDs. Why not? Because I'm not sure when they should go on.

Halos, probably with parking lights to keep them on when the lights are on.
LEDs. No clue. Maybe when daytime running lights are on?

Any opinions or facts on this one guys?

Sure! Not a problem. Once I figure out how I'm going to wire them ill take some pictures. I need to take some anyways. I only have one shot and it's of the back end. Not too flattering.

Can the halos be setup to run with or as the daytime running lights?

I'm sure I can wire them any way I'd like. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a defined way they are supposed to work.

I'm going to grab some wire tonight and start temporarily wiring them up and see what ends up looking best.

I just figured out that the new headlights have spots in them for parking lights, I think, so I'm thinking about wiring them up as turn signals then removing my turn signals and replacing them with fog lights. Then removing my fog lights and replacing them with a brake cooling kit.

So many things to think about. Too many options!! Why couldn't I have gone with factory replacements. Why couldn't they be wired up for me already? Why am I talking to myself again?

They didn't. I ended up working late last night. Tonight I want to go to a cruise to check it out, so I probably won't work on them tonight either. Sigh I need more daylight hours in a day.

Finally got them installed. Lot's of changes to the front end of my cooper.

First off, I can't seem to get the LED's to turn on. Either that, or it's just too bright in my garage to see them. I'll take some shots tonight after it gets darker.

So, I took out my driving lights because they were broken anyways. I'm replacing those with white grills (see my thread about painting certain parts white). I then disconnected my turn signals and ran them up to the new head lights. They had a spot in the new headlights for parking lights. I decided I'd rather have them as turn signals. So, now I have a fully white front end. No amber bulbs. I may end up changing that, I have to check the laws in my state (Illinois).

I hooked up the halo's to my parking lights so they go on whenever I have lights on. However, they surround my day time running lights. So, when I have my day time running lights on, they over power the halo lights. Bummer. But, when I just have my headlights on? Wow. Wow I say. Such a great look. Definitely worth the money, time and effort.

I'll post up shots later tonight. But I'm very pleased so far.

Since I couldn't find my tripod right now, I think I loaned it out, this is what I've got for ya...

I'm liking them. I want to get a shot another day of just the parking lights on, and parked, because then you can really see the halos. They look really good.

i had a set like yours on my R50.. i wasnt that satisfied with them because after hitting few bumps on the road, the lens fell off from the holding points... :? so i got a new set of healights which have both the angel eye and the devil look.. both were connected to the low beam, since i had them always on as daytime running lights. but then i recoded it to OFF, and ran the wires down to my bumper and connected it to the positions in the bumper. So now, when i turn the stalk to position no1. i have running the angel eye, the devil look, and the position lights in the bumber. when i turn it all the way i have them all on with the low beams..
