Where can I look up the gear ratios?
Where can I look up the gear ratios of a previous model year's MINI?
I can look up the current gear ratios on MINIUSA.com, its in the Full Features & Specs list. But where can I look it up for a past model year?
In this case I'm wanting to check it for our '12 JCW (assuming the website is listing the specs for the '13s). I was just checking ratios listed and I was surprised to find there's a difference between the S and the JCW. (Final drive ratio 3.647 vs 3.706.) I thought I'd checked this previously and hadn't seen a difference, so I'm not sure what the final drive ratio on ours is.
In case you're wandering why it matters, I have a couple of spreadsheets this data feeds into. I was thinking that redline came a bit sooner than I expected in the new machine, so I was checking out the theoretical speed at redline. More specifically that change is the difference between a 111mph and a 113mph redline in 4th. I'm expecting to hit about 113mph when we take the new one to Laguna Seca, so that difference may be the difference between needing to change up or not.

Service manual; provide the transmission type and gearing code and you've got a result.

Just Google it. This was one result:
http://buyersguide.roadandtrack.com/...specs#features
BTW I would expect the gear ratio specs to be unchanged between 2012 and 2013.

Actually the NAM VIN decoder (<--see the menu to the side) lists the gear ratios under Tech Specs (at least to 2 decimal places). It lists 3.647 (3.64) as the final drive ratio.
It looks like the 2013 JCW (and only the JCW) got slightly reduced gear ratios.
