R50/53 Bookends
Just wondering how many of us are cazy enough about this car to have an original mini too. They pop up every now and then on the Pics pages. Mine are on page 69 (DUDE) of the Members MINIs gallery. In ordering my new one I tried to match as close as possible. Ta-DA Bookends.
YellowSub,
I think book-ends are a great thing. My father has a set made of a 65' Stingray Coupe and Convertable. Talk about something to be proud of. Both your Minis are awsome. I really do still love the originals. The new Minis are great, but they just don't have the charm or character that the old ones do, YET! I'll give the new Mini about 2 more years until there is a true cult following like the old Minis. I would love to get an col Cooper and do it up just like the one I will pick up in a week and a 1/2. Just got to get the money first.
Great set of rides.
Cheers
PS let me geuss...Beetles fan?

My pair of Minis are on page 25 of the Members Minis. I've had my 67 Cooper S since 1980. My uncle bought it new and I remember going for a ride and it still had the window sticker on it. I was 16 at the time and he did not offer to let me drive it and I didn't have the guts to ask. It still has the original paint and interior. He hopped up the engine, installed competion belts and autox it on the west coast. A great history! As much as I like the 67 I have to admit that the 02 MCS is easier to drive fast in the hills of North Carolina with 17" rubber than the 67 with the little 10" tires! Both are great fun though.

Wow Sportech, that's a NICE garage!! What's under cover?

Sporttech - Nice E-type. I have a '66 4.2 roadster with a slightly modded engine and wider wire wheels to help handle that extra power. Love the color on yours, really makes it sing... its what... a '64? We also have a '52 XK120 FHC, but its unrestored, as well as two '34 Packard LeBarons. Just from one car nut to another.

Thanks, Davbret. I started this thread just as I was leavin' to motor to work and was pushed for time, had to keep it quick. Now there's an SS I can relate too. TOO COOL!! I'm green with envy
Sportech Like I told Davebret green with envy. Great cars and great local. If you ever motor to the Highlands ( fantasic drive just to get there) stop at The Brick Oven for some of the best pizza pie anywhere, and this from a former New Yorker use to the 5 star pie. Both the trip and the pie are mind blowin'

I was at Liberty Harley Davidson in Akron, Ohio a couple months ago and they had around 15 old MINIs for sale out front. I'm not sure of their phone number, but if you dial 330-555-1212 and ask for Liberty Harley you can probably ask them about the cars if you're interested. I am in no way affiliated with the dealership, just thought it was cool to drive by and see a ton of old MINIs. One is a 2000 model!
