3 yr free service is up in oct - what to do?

So my 3 year is up in October. My service meter read 3300 mi before next service. I had them check my key few months back and my brakes werent due for few more thousand miles. What can i do? Drive it like crazy? Get the extended maintence?

BTW, I'm in The Bay Area, California. I'd appreciate it if anyone knows any cool service advisors or dealers in the area. I usually go to Concord Mini.

thanks in advance.

They can do the service if you are at 2k miles or less until the service is due. Brake like crazy to get it covered or just drive normal and due the brake service on your own. Inquire about wiper blades, fluid flushes, air, and cabin filters. Everything you can be eligible for they should do with a smile.

Is this the only car in the world where we check the key to see if the brakes are OK?

Mine is up in October too. Sometime soon I plan to take my car down to a local independent shop and have them look the car over for any hidden problems that would be covered by the warranty. Then, based on their advice, I'll go ask for my free service from Mini. I'm friendly with the independent guys, and they'll do this for me for free because I get all my non-warranty work done there.

Who knows if they'll find anything, but it will be great savings if they do. While I generally trust my Mini dealer's service department, I consider this policy "trust, but verify."

When it's up it's up, you start paying just like everyone else... Not the end of the world.

The key just stores the data. All of the data is in your car. You can check via electronic means, IE: your key, you can check in the car via the display and stalk, or you can pull a wheel and check manually if you are so inclined. The choice is yours. Personally I like choice.

If you plan to hang onto it at least a few more years, put more than a few thiusand miles a year on it, and are not a DIYer, consider getting the extended maintenance plan. Could well make financial sense for you.
