My MCS sunroof does not open when its really hot outside. its starts to open but it just stays stuck right when its about 1 inch open. but when its nice and cool out it works fine. what should i do? i already greased it up. is this a known problem?

 

This may sound basic, and believe me I mean no disrespect, but have you taken it to MINI service yet? Also, are the guide rails greased and clean?

 

It is a known problem. No idea how much it might cost to get it fixed if you don't have a warranty in place.

When mine does it, I just use one hand to push up on the back edge of the glass as I hit the button to help it open.

 

Sounds exactly like old BMW problems with their sunroofs. Clean and grease is a yearly maintence for the car. Bentley manual might help.

 

yea i have maintenance warranty still on it idk if it covers it? but i did take it to MINI and they guy manage to get it open by pushing up on the sunroof and applying some grease on the rails but it didnt want to close it would get to the part where it goes down to close fully but it wouldnt it stop then go back to opening the sunroof dont know whats wrong
