2007 R56.

After getting a $1200 estimate from the dealer to replace the thermostat housing and the hard tube which runs from it under the intake manifold, I checked my Bently manual and the usual forums which feature good advice, and thought I'd just to it myself.

The thermostat- easy peasy.

Replacing the hard tube is proving to be a nightmare. You can't see it with the intake manifold in place, and we haven't been able to get the manifold off to get at it due to the hoses which run to the bottom of the manifold, which are also invisible from up top.

I think I'm missing the boat on something here.

Any good advice?
