Those Who FINALLY Got their 2013 Support Group

Those who have been eating popcorn getting angry and frustrated and sad when our cars were close but not delivered but are now as happy as a kid on Christmas morning -- here is an opportunity to share with others who have been riding the same roller coaster.

Can't thank my MA (O.K. I'll drink some Kool-Aid) enough. He knew I was, to say the least "anxious" to get my car and that today is my birthday. He stayed late and got the car turned around in 4 hours from the truck to ready to roll.

If you are in the Tampa Bay area and looking for a great young guy to help you purchase your Mini, Sam at Ferman is your man.

Congratulations Retired Rev! I also just heard from my MA who thanked me for my patience, said that Gracie arrived today, needed JER one day at the "spa" tomorrow and we will pick her up at 1pm on Friday! I am tremendously excited. I cannot wait to see her! I'll post pix when she gets home!!! You, please do the same!

Nice! I just moved to the Tampa area two months ago. I went to Ferman to get my oil changed a couple weeks ago.

Have you joined Sunshinemini.org yet? I'll be looking for your spice orange at one of the upcoming events.

Retired Rev,
Went after work last night for my cabrio. My MA (in Maryland) was kind enough to stay late to deliver my car to me. He even took a mobile phone call from us at 10pm to help us with a roof closing issue (a story for another time).

And, the MINI was my b-day gift too. It was last week -- car arrived at VDC but was in prison f o r e v e r.

The car? Love. It.

You can see my Fiat in the background. I was confident when I told my insurance agent that it wold qualify for a low milage discount.

I am signed up there, but I don't pop in as much as I should. I've been doing the TPA Motorsport meets...it's mostly BMWs, but there are a couple Minis. I've also been going to the USF car meets on Friday nights...but I've only ever seen 1 or 2 other Minis there and their owners are never near them... (but I guess I'm never near mine either when I'm walking around. )

Awesome! We need to organize a Mini meet...I've only met one other person around here into his Mini...and it isn't even modded.

So now that I've finally got my 2013, here's my latest conundrum...how to keep Monty cool inside while I'm at work. I bought a really good sunscreen that I put up in the morning when I get to work, but come 6pm, he's like 200 degrees inside. I'm hesitant to leave the sunroofs popped or the windows cracked for fear of rain. And because he's missing b-pillars, window deflectors/visors aren't a possibility. The mesh screens on the sunroofs provide only a tiny bit of shade to the interiors fresh leather:/

What to do? How do y'all keep your Mini's cool if all you've got to work with is an open parking lot?

Just got home from picking up Edgar and putting over 150 miles on him today. I'll take some pictures tomorrow to post. Man, I'm glad I got the Xenons and auto dimming mirros. What a killer drive home. :D

EDIT: Oh, I nearly forgot to mention my horribly embarrassing failure when I was pulling out of the dealership. I totally forgot to take off the parking brake and definitely stalled the car. I was certain someone was going to run out of the dealership; slide over the bonnet, and rip the fob out of the dash and take my car away from me. My face was so red.

I hope this doesn't mean my owner's card is going to be revoked.

Haven't been around in a while, been having too much fun driving the MINI! Hope everyone is having fun with their babies as well. Here are a couple of events I've already attended.
