It’s that time again… The Swamp Fox Parade in Marion, IA will be on Saturday Sept. 15th. I need to get a count and submit our Parade Entrée by August 17th so we can ensure our spot in the Parade line up.

After the Parade, we will drive to our house for some snacks, drinks and homemade pie as we did last year.

Details to follow, but typically we meet up at a car wash at the intersection of Grand Ave. and South 11th Street (off Highway 100) in Marion. There we will finish detailing and decorating our MINI's

We need another record breaking showing of MINI’s.

We now have a Princess! She is Maddie, daughter of one of our newer MINI owners, Jim and Catherine Spencer. Maddie is a Sophmore and eager to be our new Princess.

Entry has been submitted... In addition to EIM sign up, we have five cars coming from CIMC in Des Moines. Of the five, Gary and Penni have signed up on our site.

I put in an order for good weather and Gary will make sure of it.

Hi, everybody. What do you normally do to dress up the MINIs for the parade? Cover them in Union Jacks? Life size cutouts of The Beatles in the back seats? Tie a (swamp)fox tail to the antenna? I could probably manage just about anything...

 

We have a bunch of "bling" we have collected over the years that will be available to decorate our MINI's.. If you have some of your own, bring it along.

 

Unfortunately, due to kids' school events, it now looks like I'm going to have to miss the parade. Hopefully, someone will show up and take my spot.

We are coming for the 5k run and have a Mini and signed up to take part in parade,.
but now see that the Parade is at 10 15 and most Parades want you lined up early so we will not be able to take part in the Parade This is a new car for us and some of the events look like fun. Hopefully we can meet some fellow Mini drivers Sorry if this caused a problem - We just did not look at the timing of everything Gary and Karen

 

Sorry we'll miss you. Maybe you'll have time to come by and say "hi" just before or during the parade.

What time are we suppossed to be there?

 

Tony and Jess from Spring Grove, MN are coming to join us for the parade too, filling one of the vacated spots.

 

From Larry's coordination email circulated earlier:
- Meet up at 8:30 AM (or earlier if you want to clean up your car) at the car wash across the street from a mini-mall at the intersection of South 11th Street and Grand Ave
- We must be in position no later than 9:30 AM
- Parade starts at 10:15 AM

 

I think we're going to have to pass, sorry , have a good time
